Finding Bog Frog

Where he started

We started with the frog already visible in the original gameplay. His green body, pale belly, and overhead bundle established the basic design. The next step was to develop that small character into a more detailed reference for a new model.

Finding his character

We generated a closer character concept with a round belly, wide eyes, red scarf, green cape, satchel, and patterned bindle. That gave us a clearer reference for his proportions and accessories than the small figure in the gameplay screenshot.

A guide from every angle

The character sheet put the front, profile, back, and props together. It became a reference for the Blender revisions: keep the belly broad and faceted, settle the eyes into the head, and let the arms emerge from beneath the cape. The challenge was making those views agree in one real model.

From reference to Blender

The Blender revisions focused on proportions. We widened his belly, neck, and cheeks, gave him spherical eyes, and moved the staff behind his head. Then we simplified: a shorter muzzle, closer eyes, a hand brought forward around the staff, and no satchel or straps.

The last model kept the round silhouette and travelling bundle with fewer small details. He was still unrigged. Rigging and movement were the next stage.
